Agulugufe is a Lilongwe-based Malawian music project that emerged in 2025 and quickly gained attention for blending traditional songwriting with artificial intelligence. Unlike conventional artists or bands, Agulugufe is not a single person but a collaborative project managed by Emmanuel Nyale and two of his relatives. The team composes and records material themselves before refining the tracks with AI tools, producing polished songs that feel both familiar and futuristic.
The project’s public face is a young woman named Nessa, who appears in the artwork, visualizers, and promotional videos that represent Agulugufe online. This digital-first approach has defined the group from the start.
